Join us as we visit Victoria for the acclaimed Melbourne flower show and her now famous Silo Art trail, See the beautiful, skillful artworks, each telling a striking and real story with such skill and artistry in ever changing surroundings. following this we head to the big smoke to enjoy the Melbourne International Flower & Garden Show — the ultimate celebration of creativity, nature and blooming possibilities.
Held at the heritage-listed Royal Exhibition Building and across the Carlton Gardens, the Melbourne International Flower and Garden Show is the largest horticultural event in the Southern Hemisphere, and this relaxed six-day tour has us there on opening day.
The journey south is part of the pleasure, running through the Riverina and into the wheat country of northern Victoria, where working grain silos several storeys high have been painted by some of Australia’s best known street artists.
We take in four of them, at Tungamah, St James, Devenish and Goorambat, then settle in for three nights in Melbourne with a full day at the show and another among the gardens of the Yarra Valley, before winding home through Benalla and Glenrowan. Five nights of comfortable accommodation, twelve included meals, and everything arranged before you board.

Your 6-Day Itinerary
Day 1
Monday: Home to Albury
We set off this morning with door-to-door picks up and point the coach south, settling in for an easy run down the Hume, with a stop for morning tea and lunch along the way. Late in the afternoon we arrive in Albury on the banks of the Murray, with time to unpack and unwind before we gather for our welcome dinner.

Day 2
Tuesday: Albury to Melbourne via the Silo Art Trail
The morning is ours in Albury, with time to wander the shops or settle in at one of the cafes for morning tea (own cost). Mid-morning we board the coach and head across the border into northern Victoria for the North East Victoria Silo Art Trail.
Our first stop is Tungamah, where Western Australian artist Sobrane Simcock painted dancing brolgas, a galah and a kookaburra across the silos in 2018. This was the first silo painted in north east Victoria, and Sobrane the first Australian woman to take on a silo commission. A short drive on brings us to St James, where Benalla artist Tim Bowtell has dedicated the mural to Sir George Coles, a local lad who went on to found the Coles supermarket chain. At Devenish, Cam Scale’s towering murals pay tribute to the fifty men and women of that small community who enlisted for the First World War.
Goorambat rounds out the morning, with three silos painted by Jimmy Dvate, including the barking owl. Before heading over to the Goorambat Uniting Church to view the ‘Sophia’ mural. Sophia is a striking mural by acclaimed artist Adnate, created in 2017 as part of the Benalla Street Art Festival.. We stop here for lunch before continuing into Melbourne and checking in to our centrally located hotel. The afternoon is free to explore the city at your own pace, and this evening we gather for dinner together.

Day 3
Wednesday: Melbourne International Flower and Garden Show
Today, the full day is dedicated to Australia's premier horticultural event, the Melbourne International Flower & Garden Show, and we arrive on opening day. Spread across the Royal Exhibition Building and the Carlton Gardens, the show brings together award-winning Show Gardens, floral displays and landscape design from some of the country’s finest horticultural talent.
Spend the day exploring breathtaking floral displays, award-winning Show Gardens and creative landscape designs showcasing the very best in gardening inspiration. Take your time through the exhibitor stands, where you will find plants, garden art, tools, homewares and gifts, and call in at the demonstrations and talks running through the day. Dinner tonight is at your own leisure (own cost).

Day 4
Thursday: Yarra Valley Gardens
After breakfast we head out to the Yarra Valley, starting at the Edible Forest at Dixons Creek. Around 300 species are planted across a single acre here, every one of them chosen for a reason, whether edible, medicinal or there to feed the bees and the soil.
We move on to Alowyn Gardens at Yarra Glen, where clipped hedging, a long arched walkway and a series of distinct garden rooms sit within a much softer valley setting. Our last stop is Antique Perennials at Kinglake, a specialist nursery and display garden known for perennials, bulbs, grasses and alpines that are hard to track down elsewhere. We head back and freshen up before dinner in the hotel restaurant.

Day 5
Friday: Melbourne to Wagga Wagga
We farewell Melbourne this morning and travel north along the Hume, pausing at Benalla, where street murals cover walls and laneways right through the town centre.
From there we continue to Glenrowan and the Ned Kelly Museum and Homestead, where photographs, artefacts and historical displays tell the story of Australia’s best known bushranger, alongside a full-size replica of the Kelly family home. We arrive in Wagga Wagga during the afternoon and settle in before our final dinner together.

Day 6
Saturday: Wagga Wagga to Home
After a relaxed breakfast we begin the last leg of the journey home, with a morning tea stop along the way and lunch at Goulburn. Sit back, relax and reflect on the wonderful gardens, fascinating history and memorable experiences enjoyed throughout our Melbourne Flower Show adventure. Before an easy drop-off back at your front door this evening.
