Your 8-Day Itinerary
Day 1
Monday: Home to Tamworth
Departing after our home pick-ups this morning, we head north with a morning tea stop in Singleton. We continue through Muswellbrook and Scone, stopping along the way for a picnic lunch.
This afternoon, we arrive in Tamworth and check into our accommodation. Dinner tonight is at the motel.

Day 2
Tuesday: Tamworth to Toowoomba
After breakfast, we continue along the New England Highway, travelling through Armidale and Tenterfield with a morning tea stop along the way. For lunch, we visit Jamworks in Stanthorpe, known for its locally made preserves bursting with regional flavour. Sue has been making preserves since the late 1980’s. The local district has everything you can think of, tomatoes, capsicums, zucchinis, eggplants, onions, garlic, chilli, stone fruits, many varieties of berries and of course the well-known Stanthorpe Apples.
This afternoon, we arrive in Toowoomba where we settle in for a three-night stay.

Day 3
Wednesday: Toowoomba Floral Highlights & Railway Museum
Enjoy a relaxed start this morning before we head out to explore Toowoomba’s floral highlights. We begin with a visit to Queens Park, followed by beautiful Laurel Bank Park, a heritage-listed garden first established in the early 1900s. Next, we stop in at the DownsSteam Tourist Railway & Museum to take in some local rail history. Lunch today is at one of Toowoomba’s local cafés or hotels, then we spend the afternoon wandering through the peaceful Japanese Gardens.
We round off the day with a visit to Picnic Point, offering colourful garden beds and sweeping views out toward Brisbane.

Day 4
Thursday: Pittsworth Nursery & Allora Heritage Home
This morning, we travel to Pittsworth to visit Penny McKinley at her charming nursery, followed by a tour of several private gardens in the area. Lunch is at the Pittsworth Tavern, a favourite with locals. In the afternoon, we continue to Allora for a visit to the heritage-listed “Mary Poppins House,” once home to author P.L. Travers.
We return to Toowoomba later in the day.

Day 5
Friday: QLD State Rose Garden & Gold Coast
We begin with a visit to the QLD State Rose Garden in Newtown Park to enjoy the spring blooms in full colour at the Festival. After a bright morning, we farewell Toowoomba and make our way towards the Gold Coast. We’ll stop for lunch along the way and arrive in the early afternoon.
Dinner tonight is at our accommodation.

Day 6
Saturday: Gold Coast Free Day
Today is yours to enjoy at your own pace. Take a stroll along the beach, browse the local shops, catch up with family or friends, or simply unwind. If you’re looking for ideas, your driver will be happy to offer some suggestions.
Dinner tonight is open, choose from one of the nearby local restaurants, all within easy walking distance.

Day 7
Sunday: Gold Coast to Coffs Harbour
After a leisurely breakfast, we begin our journey south, following the coast to Coolangatta. From there, we join the Pacific Highway and make a detour to Byron Bay, the most easterly point in Australia. We continue along the scenic coastline through Lennox Head to Ballina, where you’ll have free time to explore the town at your own pace.
We then meet for lunch at the Ballina RSL Club before continuing on to Coffs Harbour, checking in to our accommodation in the afternoon.

Day 8
Monday: Coffs Harbour to Home
After breakfast, we farewell Coffs Harbour with one last look at the port and breakwall before continuing our journey south. We'll stop at the Taree RSL for our final meal together. It’s a relaxed chance to share stories, memories and a few laughs from the road.
From there, we make our way back home with an easy drop-off at your front door.
