Your 7-Day Itinerary

Day 1

Saturday: Welcome to Sydney

We’ll collect you from your doorstep in the afternoon and transfer you to a hotel right at Sydney airport for dinner and a good night’s rest before the Norfolk Island Escape adventure begins.

Day 2

Sunday: Arrival on Northfolk Island

After an early breakfast, our crew helps you check in for your international flight to Norfolk Island. Upon arrival, our friendly local partners from Pinetree Tours will meet us at the airport and escort us to the South Pacific Resort—just a short walk from the main township of Burnt Pine. Enjoy a welcome drink, settle into your room, and prepare for your first taste of island life. 

Tonight, we enjoy an early night out at a local restaurant for a 2-course feast. Taste the local meat and produce from the island at the famous ‘Bounty Bar and Grill’

Day 3

Monday: A Taste of History & Wonderland by Night

Start your day with a Half-Day Orientation Tour. Visit historic sites including Kingston, Cascade and Longridge, and enjoy morning tea at an old island home. You’ll learn about Norfolk’s unique governance, lifestyle, and convict legacy and enjoy stories told in the full commentary as you visit each new place. the highlights include the renowned Melanesian Chapel and a visit to the grounds of an old island home - where you will be served morning tea.  

Afternoon: Free time to shop or join an optional glass-bottom boat ride over Emily Bay’s coral reef (tide and weather permitting). 

Evening: After dinner at the resort, join the enchanting Wonderland by Night experience. Wonderland by Night is a well-loved tour on the island that celebrates the stories of life gone by on Norfolk Island and how the past has shaped their identity. 10 acres of magical Norfolk Pines are lit up like a magical enchanted forest. Meander along (or ride in the ‘moon buggy’) through a gentle winding path with a descendant of the Bounty Mutineers, as they recite poems and light up the dioramas, while sharing entertaining stories. Enjoy a cuppa at the end of the bush, before being bussed back to your accommodation.

Day 4

Tuesday: Convict Legends & Sunset Feasts

We visit the incredible Fletcher’s Mutiny Cyclorama, a 360° immersive art experience bringing the dramatic Bounty story to life. Standing in the middle of the panoramic masterpiece – with music, sound, props and 3D illusions enhancing the effect. Listen carefully to the cyclorama soundtrack and you’ll hear snippets of Norf’k, a language still spoken by islanders to this day. 

Afternoon: Explore the World Heritage Kingston settlement on an in-depth walking tour—see colonial homes, the New Gaol, cemetery, Crank Mill, and more, with captivating storytelling throughout. 

We guide you through the cemetery, to hear the history of the colonial headstones, as well as the old houses along Quality Row. A walk through the ruins of the New Gaol, see the Pier Store, Boat Shed and the Crank Mill - all of which must be seen to be believed experience the incredible history of Norfolk Island - is to see it for yourself. 
 
Evening: Enjoy the iconic Norfolk Island Fish Fry that has been in operation for over 40 years! A true feast of local seafood, island dishes and homemade coconut bread all while overlooking breathtaking coastal scenery as the sun sets - with live music in the background.  

Your evening is completed by local entertainment from the Baunti Byuutis dancing group, on our exclusive Western Side property ‘Orn Dar Cliff’. For those who drive themselves and would prefer to stay for a short time, you can view the incredible sun setting over the ocean.  

Nightfall at Kingston offers a different mood at Norfolk Island’s Convict Settlement. 

The same stillness and stars from 1788—but now brought to life with real sounds, theatrical lighting and costumed actors. Pinetree Tours leads you through the island’s dark convict past. This Sound and Light Show is a must-see.

Day 5

Wednesday: Nature - Nostalgia & Norfolk Hospitality

Begin the day with a Bushwalk Breakfast BBQ. This tour caters for everyone and gives you the opportunity to enjoy a walk in the great outdoors. Choose a gentle stroll through Palm Glen or for the more energetic, a leisurely 3.5 km walk through scenic Mt. Bates to the highest point on the island, the Captain Cook Monument - where Cook landed in 1774.

If you would prefer to sleep in and skip the bush walk, but would like to have breakfast on the clifftop, you can join the walkers at Captain Cook Monument and share in the festivities. 

Afternoon: Step back in time with a guided tour of Pitcairn Settlers Village, featuring the Gracious old original Bailey homestead and gardens, a stroll through the Barn, dairy and outbuildings - a museum filled with items of nostalgia and historic interest - The oldest working forge in the Pacific, ex New Zealand army hut with wartime memorabilia, exclusive historic film, and refreshments. 
 
Evening: One of the tour’s highlights - the Progressive Dinner. Enjoy a delicious 3-course meal at different island homes, hosted by locals who’ll share stories of life, history and culture.

Day 6

Thursday: Gardens, Museums & Ghost Stories

Discover a different side of Norfolk with the Green Fingers Garden Tour. Visit a hydroponic nursery, private gardens, and Norfolk’s only maze, with morning tea served in a stunning scenic location. 

Next The Bounty Folk Museum tells the strange and startling history of Norfolk Island, from the harrowing tales of ill-fated convicts brought here, to the against-the-odds survival of the Bounty mutineers and their Tahitian wives. Though small, the museum is wide in scope, with lots of artefacts to pore over. Browse handwritten research books and get lost in the page-turning plot of Norfolk Island’s past. 
 
Evening: The Ghost Tour includes a dinner and lantern walk, while listening to stories that will delight you, make you think and send shivers down your spine. Dinner is held in a beautiful, historic Georgian Building - while the lantern walk takes you through the historic Kingston Ruins.

Day 7

Friday: Farewell to Paradise

Enjoy a final breakfast together as we we share our experiences. You’ll have time to find that last souvenir before heading to the airport. Our coach will meet us back in Sydney and return you home.
